Alternative.
Words by Jitro Timbang
We could’ve stayed hibernating, hidden, hollow without a goal; without hope for a new season to thaw the cold.
We could’ve stayed sitting silent with our thoughts; sitting with a burning passion that would’ve had our potential paused.
We could’ve stayed idle in agony with the voices competing for power on their own — a life that could’ve been simple.
Or so one may have thought.
Well now you may know, and if you didn’t, this’ll be a journey for you and I both. I could keep going back and forth the trauma that’s been told, but in hibernation, I learned that the focus is on rest and growth. In my silence, I became the observer of the world that wanted me to fall, and the agony of victim mentality dried up the energy meant to uplift communities. So, no — it wouldn’t have been a life that would’ve been simple after all.
To uplift communities — don’t you think that’s much worth the energy? This is no god mentality, nor lack of humility. It’s honesty — my authenticity just seeps through me. I won’t apologize for my being — rather, me being.
Don’t worry if the discomfort is irritating, imagine me as the wind — I’m just passin’.
If I spark some curiosity, imagine me as the mirror reflecting — I’m an alternative reality checking in.
I understand that I’m an anomaly, and perhaps the parts of you that I’ve introduced would’ve stayed untrue had I kept dimming. But in truth, I’d rather be all of me than nothing left of me.
So here I am: standing, speaking, soaring with energy revolting.
